Dreams of painting fuel her ability to live as free as possible and challenged, Neilani is focused on learning new things. Surfing is her main inspiration and outlet, yet there are many more challenging art forms that help her balance the many aspects of living as a professional artist. She tries to live by her mantra that "There is fun in everything".

Surfing, music and practicing yoga is the oil in the paint that lubes her life’s path. She works from personal experiences and photographs. Her hobbies include the following: skateboarding, wakeboarding, cooking, snorkeling, fishing, playing drums and acoustic guitar, ping-pong, singing, dancing, learning other languages, gardening, riding beach cruisers, hanging with family and friends.

Personal originals (much like diary pages), commissioned paintings, murals, custom surf board designs, prints, and clothing are available for purchase. She has clients such as legendary singer Johnny Mathis, surfing legends, and many new and old friends. You may view Neilani’s art works in art exhibitions, art festivals, homes, public establishments, and Neilaniart.com.

Oil paint is her main medium and she is known for her large scale works. She also works in charcoals, acrylic and water colors, figurative sheet metal welding, and a multitude of other mediums with subjects ranging from portraits and still life, land and seascapes, dreams, and sand sculptures made to be washed away by the tide. She is known to paint with her fingers, brushes, and many other tools. It is not unusual for her to have ten paintings developing all at once. Neilani's studio travels with her surfboards.

Since the fourth grade she has focused on creating art.
