Neilani
|
Neilani Marie Werner was born in Newport
News, Virginia When she was two her
brother, sister, and parents moved to Miami. To this day, she
lives there from time to time. Neilani is a
Cuban, Italian, German, Irish, Swedish, Scorpio. Art became a profession for Neilani
in 1995.
Dreams of painting fuel her ability to live
as free as possible and challenged, Neilani is
focused on learning new things. Surfing is her
main inspiration and outlet, yet there are many
more challenging art forms that help her balance
the many aspects of living as a professional
artist. She tries to live by her mantra that
"There is fun in everything". |

Surfing, music and practicing yoga is the oil in
the paint that lubes her life’s path. She works
from personal experiences and photographs. Her
hobbies include the following: skateboarding,
wakeboarding, cooking, snorkeling, fishing,
playing drums and acoustic guitar, ping-pong,
singing, dancing, learning other languages,
gardening, riding beach cruisers, hanging with
family and friends.
Personal originals (much like diary pages),
commissioned paintings, murals, custom surf
board designs, prints, and clothing are
available for purchase. She has clients such as
legendary singer Johnny Mathis, surfing legends,
and many new and old friends. You may view

Oil paint is her main medium and she is known
for her large scale works. She also works in
charcoals, acrylic and water colors, figurative
sheet metal welding, and a multitude of other
mediums with subjects ranging from portraits and
still life, land and seascapes, dreams, and sand
sculptures made to be washed away by the tide.
She is known to paint with her fingers, brushes,
and many other tools. It is not unusual for her
to have ten paintings developing all at once.

Since the fourth grade she has focused on
creating art. Neilani went to a magnet school of
the arts in junior high, attended life drawing
classes at a local university during high
school, received a bachelor’s degree in Studio
Art and after six years of traveling to surf
went back to school and completed a Masters in
Art Education. Neilani and her work have been
published in several magazines such as Surfing
Magazine, Surf Life For Women, Eastern Surf
Magazine, Surf News, and the Florida Today
newspaper. In Costa Rica Neilani ran her own art
Gallery.

commission contract found on the rates and
commission page and send it by mail. Prints are
made to order and will be delivered within a
week after receiving payment. Prints of many
sizes on several different materials can be made
of Neilani's originals. Neilani believes that
numbering prints of her work is unnecessary.
Value of art work should not be determined by
how many copies are made.
